Do You Know God?
A simple gospel presentation by Greg
Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship
The
Danger of Moderate Success
Moderate
success in ministry is a spiritual hazard. It can
make us content to live without the manifest
presence of God.

The entire law is summed up in a single
command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Galatians 5:14 (NIV)
I want to take a moment and introduce to a
very important and special ministry that my dear brother
Chef Gary LeBlanc has started. It's called
Mercy
Chefs...
and in a nut shell - its all about love - the love
of Christ... so simple that at its core it is here to
feed those in dire need. Let me share with you some recent
news from Mercy Chefs.
I want to
encourage you to support them and participate anyway you
can....
"The
first week of February changed the lives of many in the town
of Mountain View, AR. An EF4 storm packed winds of 166 -200
mph and stayed on the ground for 123 miles affecting many
towns and small communities along the way. In Mountain View
alone the tornado destroyed 68 homes, the hospital,
ambulance service, and many businesses.
Gods
Pit Crew along with Operation Compassion and Mercy Chefs
headed out immediately. Twelve tractor trailer loads of food
and supplies were distributed to the victims of the awful
disaster. That is approximately 450 thousand pounds of
supplies valued at over 1 million dollars. Mercy Chefs was
proud to join with God’s Pit Crew with our mobile kitchen
that served over 10,000 hot meals.
The
effort helped 1000 families a day with needed supplies and
sent product to other towns and counties to be distributed
via local fire departments and churches. At times cars were
backed up 150 deep waiting for supplies and a hot meal.
Supplies and support from our donors and from Sysco
Foodservice, Operation Compassion, Feed the Children and
Operation Blessing made it possible for Mercy Chefs to
respond."
ALERT... FLORIDA MERCY
CHEF TRAINING
Mercy Chefs in conjunction
with Relief Ministries of Calvary Chapel and Network of Hope
will hold two disaster response training camps in Sarasota
and Bradenton Florida in April. The goal is to better
prepare local church fellowships to be the center of the
community in the event of a disaster. Topics of training
will include leadership, counseling, distribution of goods,
medical, work teams, communications, advocacy and mass
feeding. Mercy Chefs will be focusing on the care and
feeding of victims, volunteers and first responders and
using our Chef assets as force multipliers within local and
regional response organizations. Special attention will be
given to food safety and sanitation.

"Food for Thought"
“In his book
Food for Thought: Appetizers for Prosperous Living,
Chef Gaston presents the Gospel of God in a creative yet
practical way. He chooses to delight the inner man with
nourishment from the precious Word of God. His menu has
great variety and appeals to the most discriminating taste.
Most importantly, his work exalts Jesus Christ by the power
of the Holy Spirit! We applaud Chef Gaston’s first book and
highly recommend it for those desiring to “prosper and be in
health” God’s way.” -- Drs.
William B. and Barbara R. DeSue, Pastors, Increasing Joy
Ministries
“Savor the
wisdom Chef Gaston successfully conveys as necessary

This is what the LORD
says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the
strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of
his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he
understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises
kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I
delight," declares the LORD. --Jeremiah 9:23-24

Max
Jukes lived in New York. He did not believe in
Christ or in Christian training. He refused to take
his children to church, even when they asked to go.
He has had 1,026 descendants—300 were sent to
prison for an average term of 13 years each; 190
were public prostitutes; 680 were admitted
alcoholics. His family thus far, has cost the state
in excess of $420,000. They have made no
contribution to society that is of any benefit.
Jonathan
Edwards lived in the same state, at the same time as
Jukes. He loved the Lord and saw that his children
were in church every Sunday, as he served the Lord
to the best of his ability. He has had 929
descendants—of these, 430 were ministers; 86
became university presidents; 75 authored good
books; five were elected to the United States
Congress and two to the Senate. One was
Vice-President of this nation. His family never cost
the state one cent but has contributed immeasurably
to the life of plenty in this land today.
How
is your influence and what legacy will you leave
with your children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren?
Empty
Success
I
remember Tom Landry telling me in the mountains of
Colorado years ago, just after they had won the
Super Bowl (the Dallas Cowboys, year after year
after year, had been coming so close, and finally
that victory had come), “The overwhelming
emotion—in a few days, among the players on the
Dallas Cowboys football team—was how empty that
goal was. There must be something more.”
