About Cooks For Christ...

"So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep…"

The King James Version, John 21:15-17

 Our Mission
The mission of the International Association of Cooks For Christ (IACFC) is dedicated to igniting and uniting chefs, cooks hospitality professionals, and anyone who is a lover of food, to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to exhort our members to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ in the marketplace, in their homes, and in the community in which they live.

Our Vision
Our vision is to reach culinary professionals, restaurateurs, gourmands, lovers of food, and all who enjoy cooking, worldwide with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of them. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our Call
We believe that God wants to use Cooks for Christ as a tool to support  Christian Hospitality Professionals and Food enthusiast from all denominational, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds to faithfulness, discipleship, and godliness, living out the gospel by living out their faith in their day-to-day lives, serving the lost and feeding the hungry here and abroad.

Its purposes are:
  • To glorify God in the Food Service Industry by being model examples of Professionalism while shining the light of Christ in our everyday lives.

  • To fellowship together for individual growth in the Christian life

  • To serve the cause of Christ through the church of one's own choice

  • To encourage those in the food service industry in their Christian life

  • To bring all Christians in food service to a common goal of praying for food service industry and its members

  • To be perfected in unity so that the world will know that God has sent His Son Jesus Christ. John 17:23

We are bound together by:
  • Our loyalty to Christ

  • Our confidence in Scripture

  • Our calling to disciple culinary men and women

Four primary principles guide our work:
  • The Gospel: a passion for those who don't know Christ (John 3:16)

  • Depth of Discipleship: our commitment to the third generation (2 Timothy 2:2)

  • Spiritual Multiplication: helping "the little one become a thousand" (Isaiah 60:22)

  • Feed The Hungry: assisting in the multiplication of the bread to the thousands (John 6:1-14)

The Recipe that makes - Cooks for Christ
The Word of God

We want to hear the Word of God taught in a practical, inspiring way, in conjunction with His current prophetic word. We aim to hear and obey God's word to us, and to be “doers of the Word” who are being transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Worshipping of God

We desire to worship God with our whole being, and want Jesus at the center as our Lord. We are hungry to know God's presence, hear His voice, and follow hard after Him. We desire Spirit-enabled worship in a style that is intimate, dynamic, culture-current, and life changing.

Caring for the poor

We believe that God's heart goes out to the weak, helpless, impoverished, oppressed, and needy, and that He has commissioned His church to care for them.

Equipping the saints

We believe that all Christians should be trained to “do the works of Christ.” We are committed to the “show and tell” model of on-the-job training, in which trainees are introduced to doing ministry functions with trainers and then are taught during and after the training experience. We aim to provide training for all aspects of responsible Christian life and ministry.

Practicing Christian unity

We are convinced that all who belong to Christ are one in His Body, the Church. We aim to maintain unity by honoring all who call on Jesus' name and by seeking reconciliation with all parts of the Church.

Ministering in renewal to churches and within the marketplace

We desire to serve the Body of Christ around us through renewal, equipping, and other helpful means.

Begetting other local chapters

We believe that the best way we can help to expand the Kingdom of God is through the planting of local chapters. It is our desire to plant chapters with a vision for planting other chapters, with the same vision, in their Jerusalem , in their Judea and Samaria , and to the furthest recesses of this world.

Cooks for Christ Policies
  • We are Cooks FOR Christ!

  • We are NOT a political organization or a pressure group to make demands on those in authority over us. Instead, we follow I Timothy 2:1-8.

  • We are NOT an organization that exerts pressure to bring about social change. Instead, we present Christ Romans 1:16 . We believe it is the Holy Spirit who changes hearts and brings conviction of sin.

  • We are NOT an organization that is run by a majority of its members. Instead, we follow Acts 6:3-7 .

  • We evaluate our meetings, activities, projects, and so forth, by asking this question: Are we encouraging food service professionals and food enthusiast to live their lives for Jesus Christ?

Our Ministry Focus
To know Christ!

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:

“Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

The King James Version, John 17:1-3

“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”

The King James Version, Philippians 3:10

Our Ministry Goal
  • To encourage Chefs, Cooks, Culinary Professionals, and Food Enthusiast: to live their lives for Jesus Christ!

  • The International Association of Cooks For Christ's ministry is built on Hebrews 10:24-25 .

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

We meet together regularly to:
  • Spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

  • Encourage one another more and more to live our lives for Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose of Gathering
Fellowship
  • To spur one another on toward love and good deeds

  • To encourage one another more and more to live our lives for Jesus Christ

  • To share the gospel of Jesus Christ with non-believers

  • To make disciples of those who receive Christ as their Savior

Relationship
  • To know Christ personally as Savior and Lord.

  • To grow individually and as the body of Christ in our walk with the Lord.

  • To cultivate lasting friendships.

  • Reaching out to one another in agape love

  • Sharing one another's joys

  • Bearing one another's burdens

  • Being there in all seasons to listen, encourage, comfort and forgive

Sharing God's Word

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful to teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The King James Version, 2 Timothy 3:1 &17
